Our memories and experiences shape who we are. When Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia threatens these memories, it can be heartbreaking. We take great care in our support of seniors with memory loss. With safety and security as priority one, our compassionate staff focuses on helping these residents maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.
There is no template for memory support. Instead, we get to know each individual so we can provide activities and attention tailored to their specific needs. This intimate, welcoming approach provides the comfort of familiarity while inspiring creativity and a personal sense of purpose. Here, we believe all individuals will grow and age with dignity, safety and wellness.
Specific communities offer Memory Support services.
Keeping our residents inspired and involved in their surroundings is an important part of our Memory Support services. In our communities that provide memory support, you’ll find a range of amenities such as a swimming pool, walking paths, well-stocked libraries, engaging activities and family-style dining. Our residents can be involved in our communities through bible study, restaurant-style dining or other social events.
Best Friends™ Approach
In our Memory Support communities we have been trained and utilize the Best Friends™ Approach which redefines how we can enhance the lives of individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The Best Friends™ Approach represents the first comprehensive philosophy geared towards caregivers.
This approach is centered on the idea that what a person with dementia needs most is a friend, a "Best Friend." This can be a family member, friend, or staff member who emphasizes with their situation, remains loving and positive, and is dedicated to helping the person feel safe, secure and appreciated. The Best Friends™ Approach supports and guides caregivers and family members on how to relate and communicate with residents affected with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
We believe part of what makes the experience in Memory Support so special is the open communication we establish with our residents and their families. Immanuel remains committed to improving this communication whenever possible and one of the tools we use is called LifeLoop.
LifeLoop is a lifestyle management and engagement application that improves communication, daily scheduling, and the engagement of our residents. With LifeLoop we can identify changes in the condition, communicate with multiple family members, and better understand how we can meet the individual needs of everyone.
