Who We Are

The Immanuel Community Foundation

Compassionate support for our residents, participants, and team members. The Immanuel Community Foundation is a helping hand when facing unexpected events. In joy and in sorrow, the Foundation is a key component of Immanuel and how we live the mission.

Why we were created

Since 2011, the Immanuel Community Foundation has embraced its role to support Immanuel’s residents, participants, and team members in a variety of ways. Whether it’s through life-long learning, campus enhancements, student scholarships, or providing financial support in a crisis situation, the ICF embodies Immanuel’s mission of Christ-centered service to seniors, each other, and the community.

Sustained by the generosity of our Immanuel family

Through the generosity of those who live in, work at, or participate in Immanuel’s communities and centers, our mission and values are fulfilled through their financial support and self-giving concern for others.

Improving communities

“Our dream for a chapel started in 2009. The residents and Foundation were able to work together and get our input, which was very important to us as residents. We feel we created a beautiful setting. It was well worth waiting for.”

— Carolyn Crenson, resident at Pacific Springs in Omaha, Nebraska

Supporting scholarships

“The resident scholarship program is near and dear to the hearts of the residents at Grand Lodge for multiple reasons. We are very fond of our part-time employees, and we know education is important. Many of us spent our lives in the field or knew that education was a really important part of our lives professionally. The Foundation is the big supporting arm that allows us to set this up, have a policy, choose the winners, and provide a fun, meaningful celebration event.”

— Jen Davidson, resident at Grand Lodge in Lincoln, Nebraska

Giving back

“We were both really fortunate in our lives. We both had jobs that have allowed us to have a good income, and we both feel it is something we can do in case people don’t have a good income or outlive their funds. You just never know when those life savings will run out, and fortunately, the Resident Assistance Fund is available to help people continue living in this community, and it’s also a wonderful way for us to get to contribute to Immanuel.”

— Pat Meisel & Ken Knowles, residents at Pacific Springs in Omaha, Nebraska

Scholarships awarded annually

Exemplifying their love for education, residents awarded 54 student workers from seven of Immanuel’s communities $143,190 in scholarships to higher educational institutions to advance their academics.

Helping Hands Fund

The Helping Hands Fund supports Immanuel employees who need financial assistance or time off due to an unforeseen situation or event.

Helping Hands allowed me the time to care for my son during his procedure and recovery. Theo is now living his best life and has fully functioning kidneys. I have to thank the staff at Pacific Springs for their support and PTO donations when I was needing it most. I could not ask to work at a more compassionate place.
– Alan LeClair II, Pacific Springs Wellness Coordinator

Resident Assistance Fund

An unexpected illness or unplanned expense can derail the most careful financial planning. The Resident Assistance Fund works with qualifying residents who are facing financial challenges to ensure that Immanuel can always be their home.

Our Team's Voice

Celebrating ONE Immanuel

Each year, the Immanuel Community Foundation hosts the Celebrating ONE Immanuel event. For one day, we bring participants, residents, and team members to Omaha from 18 Immanuel Communities and three PACE® centers across Nebraska and Iowa for an afternoon of celebration.

The generosity of 25 corporate partners, who work closely with numerous Immanuel departments throughout the year, sponsored this uplifting event filled with entertainment and fellowship.

Six exceptional Immanuel employees are recognized with the annual Awards of Excellence during the event.  The all-Immanuel choir, featuring more than 120 residents and team members, shares their gift of music to start the event.
