Residents from the Arboretum enjoyed a top 10 weather day on the lake at Lake Wanahoo, just outside of Wahoo, Nebraska. We joined with volunteers from Live Well. Go Fish. to enjoy a tour of the man-made lake, viewing a large bald eagle flying towards his nest, and planes flying over to the nearby airport. Residents enjoyed a game of “Bobber Bingo.” Bobbers with bingo numbers were thrown overboard by our group and resident Bonnie had the important job of navigating us to all the missing bobbers so everyone could fill in their cards. After a few passes back in forth our captain, David Ruder, Chief Development Officer from Live Well. Go Fish. had all our numbers collected and winners established.
We headed off to a calm cove on the lake for fishing. Some nice sized bluegill and even a large mouth bass made an appearance for our group. Our last fish of the day was caught courtesy of Howard, a resident who will soon be celebrating his 100th birthday!
The group commented on how enjoyable the day was: calm waters, a cool breeze, a sunny day, and enjoyable company on the lake. A great day for fishing for The Arboretum!
